We love to hire and promote from within. Our last Special Events Manager started with us as a runner/busser and was promoted to management by year 3.

BANQUET HOUSE

Employment Type: The Banquet House is a part time as-needed position that may require weekday, weekend, holiday, early morning, or late night shifts. The Banquet House main duties include event set-up and breakdown, cleaning, and maintaining banquet function space by following the standards of service set by Management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Reliable and punctual attendance

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, service corridors, pre-function space, storage, and service areas.
  • During events: cleaning restrooms, assisting in cleanliness of bar, transporting tables and equipment, reporting maintenance issues to management, and providing requested information to Manager.
  • Tearing-down and setting-up event rooms daily. Re-setting rooms according to event specifications.
  • Proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as tables, A/V, chairs, risers, dance floor, podiums, photo booth, and lecterns to avoid damage.
  • Polishing flatware and glassware, folding napkins, mopping and polishing floors to prepare for events.
  • Making minor repairs to keep the event rooms functional and up to standard.
  • General Labor: Assist in any duties that need to be completed.  Labor includes heavy lifting and climbing ladders.
  • Assist in bi-annual inventory report: tables, chairs, tableware (glassware, plates, flatware), and all banquet related equipment.

BARTENDER

Employment Type: The Bartender is a part time as-needed position that may require late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Bartender main duties include safe, quick, and attentive beverage service during events. (Noor is not a restaurant, tips are welcomed but not guaranteed from clients.)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California Food Handler’s Certificate (not expired)
  • Has knowledge of the bad drink log policy and is sure it is ready for each shift.
  • 2+ years of Bartending experience.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring guests are satisfied and all beverage needs are met.
  • Providing service that matches banquet and fine-dining standards including service style, uniform, language, timeliness, and radio use.
  • Maintaining a positive and eager customer service attitude with guests and encouraging team members to do so as well.
  • Communicating with Event Manager and Banquet Captain to coordinate event timeline and smooth service flow to guests.
  • Performing all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized bar and bar back area.
  • Memorizing each event’s bar selections to provide guests with information and provide appropriate service.
  • Extensive knowledge of all drink recipes, prices, garnishes, presentations, etc.
  • Requiring proper identification for ensuring guests are of legal drinking age.
  • Preparing all pre-mixed drinks and garnishes.
  • Stocking and providing inventory of glassware and liquor.
  • Promoting & upselling liquor when possible.
  • Memorize drinks, ingredients and garnishes for lounge.
  • Following legal and safety guidelines regarding beverage service, security, and intoxicated guests.

BANQUET CAPTAIN

Employment Type: The Banquet Captain is a part time, as-needed position that may require early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Banquet Captain main duties include banquet floor management prior to and during service and attendance at weekly staff meetings regarding event details and timelines.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California Food Handler’s Certificate (not expired)
  • 2+ years of fine dining experience
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervising all banquet activities to ensure guests are satisfied and all food and beverage needs are met.
  • Providing service that matches banquet and fine-dining standards including service style, uniform, language, timeliness, and radio use.
  • Ensuring client rentals are collected and organized at the end of every event.
  • Training new team members to provide service that matches banquet and fine-dining standards including food service style, uniform, language, and radio use.
  • Keeping record of both good and bad guest comments for improvement.
  • Maintaining a positive and eager customer service attitude with guests and encouraging team members to do so as well.
  • Managing food and beverage service flow and special requests during events.
  • Communicating with kitchen and serving teams to coordinate smooth service flow to guests.
  • Performing all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner at all times.
  • Tracking guest count and advising in problem solving situations.
  • Monitoring that all equipment is used, cleaned, and stored properly.
  • Organizing pre-shift meetings for event staff that include all relevant information pertaining to each event’s unique needs such as timeline, allergies, rental items, surprise activities, and room flips.
  • Completing consistent event re-cap report forms to summarize event service and report any incidents or lost items.
  • Remaining present until all guests and employees have left or until relieved by another Banquet Manager.

BANQUET SERVER

Banquet Server is a part time as-needed position that may require early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Noor is not a restaurant, tips are welcomed but not guaranteed from clients. The Banquet Server main duties include attentive food and beverage service during events.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid California Food Handler’s Certificate (not expired)
  • 2+ years of fine dining experience
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring guests are satisfied and all food and beverage needs are met.
  • Monitoring assigned banquet tables and remaining visible on the floor during event service to meet any guest needs.
  • Providing service that matches banquet and fine-dining standards including food service style, uniform, language, and radio use.
  • Maintaining a positive and eager customer service attitude with guests and encouraging team members to do so as well.
  • Communicating with kitchen and serving team to coordinate smooth service flow to guests.
  • Performing all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner at all times.
  • Assisting in flipping banquet space from one set-up to another in the case of back to back events.
  • Memorizing each event’s menu selections to provide guests with information.
  • Bussing food and beverage service areas including assigned tables and bar.
  • Reviewing assigned tables prior to event service to ensure all table settings are even, clean, and not missing any items.
  • Communicating with Banquet Captain for event specifics and service flow plan.

DOOR ATTENDANT

The Door Attendant is a part time, as-needed position that may require weekday, weekend, holiday, early morning, or late night shifts. The Door Attendant main duties include managing the event guest list, directing vendors to load in, and ensuring no guests exit with alcohol.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Remaining present, visible, and alert at the door.
  • Being knowledgeable of event details such as event name, start time, duration, etc.
  • Cleaning entrances including sweeping, vacuuming, and deep cleaning red carpets.
  • Directing guests to the appropriate ballroom according to event.
  • Ensuring all guests that enter are on the guest list.
  • Re-directing vendors from guest entrance to vendor entrance for load-in.
  • Communicating guest count and event timeline with Event Manager and Banquet Captain.
  • Monitoring all exiting guests for alcohol leaving the premises.
  • Reporting all incidences or suspicious activity to Event Manager.

HOUSEKEEPING

The Housekeeper is a part time, as-needed position that may require early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The Housekeeper main duties include maintaining banquet space cleanliness prior to, during, and after events as well as a weekly deep cleaning of all spaces.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of housekeeping experience
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Completing a weekly deep clean of all event and office spaces by following a detailed checklist that includes vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, floors, glass, and dusting.
  • Ensuring all bathrooms are cleaned and stocked prior to the beginning of events.
  • Knowledge of basic cleaners and equipment.
  • Proper care and respect in the use of cleaning equipment including vacuums, mops, brooms, etc.
  • Organization and cleanliness of work spaces like janitor closets and storage rooms.
  • Managing inventory of janitorial supplies, equipment, and cleaning solutions to keep a par level in stock.
  • Maintaining a positive and eager attitude with event staff and guests.
  • Communicating with other departments regarding any needs or issues.
  • Communicating with other departments via radio during event functions to ensure smooth service.

HANDYMAN

The Handyman is a part time, as-needed position that may require early mornings, late nights, and weekends. The Handyman main duties include maintaining functionality of banquet and office spaces by repairing, installing, or improving new or existing structures and hardware.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years of handyman/general contracting experience
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
  • Ability to work on ladders
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Repairing any broken, loose, or missing hardware in event spaces or offices.
  • Repairing damage to dry wall, seals, metal doors, and other commercial fixtures.
  • Basic knowledge of hardware, equipment, and materials such as drywall, tile, fasteners, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  • Proper care and respect of equipment including power tools, dollies, vacuums, etc.
  • Project management for time and labor costs in addition to flexibility to work around events and client site tours.
  • Working carefully to ensure the safety of the employee and others when working with hazardous materials, chemicals, or electricals.
  • Alerting staff on-site of any projects that temporarily affect mobility, access, or safety.
  • Managing inventory and notifying managers of needed hardware, paints, light bulbs, etc.
  • Maintaining a positive and eager attitude.
  • Communicating with other departments regarding any needs, issues, or informing them of in-progress projects that could create a hazardous environment.

LINE COOK

NOOR, Pasadena’s premier event space, is currently looking for a line/prep cook. Candidates should be friendly, well groomed, professional, and highly motivated individuals who are looking to challenge themselves and advance in our fast-paced, team-oriented event space. We have a positive, family work environment and encourage those looking for a great opportunity to sharpen your skills to come on board. Kitchen experience is required.

Prep/Line Cook: Please have experience in a high-volume kitchen.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • All offers of employment with NOOR are contingent upon a satisfactory verification check.
  • CA Food handler’s permit.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Great work ethic/attitude.
  • Reliable and a team player.
  • Must be willing to work weekends.
  • Must be able to provide work authorization for I-9.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Willingness and ability to follow directions.
  • 3 years minimum experience working in a professional kitchen.
  • Proper break down of kitchen/station at the end of service including, cleaning, consolidation to standards.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef.
  • Must understand and practice safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
  • Must be able to communicate well and work well as a team member.
  • Have restaurant/catering experience working back of house.
  • Have California Food Handlers certification.
  • Have food preparation experience and/or other kitchen experience.
  • Have availability to train and prep on weekdays and work events on weekends.
  • Have a high sense of responsibility.
  • Maintain professional kitchen etiquette.
  • Must display a strong desire learn and adapt.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining great enthusiasm.
  • Be a team player with a strong work ethic.
