Here at NOOR we do everything we can to support our local community and the many worthwhile organizations that do such excellent work alongside our own philanthropic efforts. Such as our community meals program during the pandemic, and our commitment to local homeless shelters who we supply food to on a regular basis. And so we are excited to announce an opportunity for our friends to get involved in supporting a wonderful networking event which is being held by Women Networking for Women in order to raise money for local non-profit Door of Hope. NOOR temporarily closed it’s doors for events in March along with many other businesses. However, we were anxious to help combat the unforeseen side effect of hunger in our communities, so we re-opened our kitchen and began preparing nutritious, immune-boosting soups for donation to those in need. Since we began this project on March 27, 2020 we have donated 6,000 servings of soup to local residents, senior centers and foster homes. We have so far funded this program by ourselves, but now we are asking for your help to continue and possibly even expand this service. Please help us keep….
We are putting together this ongoing list of organizations and businesses who are offering food donations and other free food service such as food deliveries plus food banks and pantries during the COVID-19 crisis. The Pasadena Police Activities League is an important cornerstone of the Pasadena community, providing a safe and enriching environment for Pasadena youth after school and during the summer. Working closely with the Salvation Army, the program offers mentoring and activities including sports, robotics, educational programs and field trips to the many cultural centers Pasadena has to offer. At this point in time PAL has served over 3,000 youth in the Pasadena area and has helped increase GPA 42% through it’s mentoring program.
